The Wilson Staff Model ZM and TaylorMade MG5 are both forged tour grind wedges in chrome, but the MG5 offers far more ways to build a set. It runs from 46° to 60° across 8 lofts, while the Staff Model ZM covers 50° to 60° in 6 lofts. Bounce follows the same pattern, 6° to 12° on the Wilson and 7° to 14° on the TaylorMade, spread across LB, SB and HT grinds. A golfer who wants a 46° or 48° gap wedge, or who needs high bounce for soft turf and a steep attack, will find those only in the MG5. The MG5 is also the only one tagged Raw Face. The Staff Model ZM keeps things simpler, with one bounce option at 50°, 52° and 54°, and it lists at $129.99 against $149.99, a $20 saving per wedge.
Choose the TaylorMade MG5 if fitting comes first. More lofts, more bounce and the LB, SB and HT grinds make it easier to match your swing and your course, and the raw face is there if you want it. Choose the Wilson Staff Model ZM if a wedge between 50° and 60° already fits your bag and you would rather keep the $20. On price the Wilson wins. On choice, the MG5 does.
