On paper, the Cobra OPTM Max-K and the TaylorMade Qi4D Max are close to identical. Both are 460cc game improvement drivers with an adjustable hosel, both come in 9°, 10.5° and 12° lofts, and both ship with the same stock shafts, a Fujikura Ventus Blue 5 in regular and an Aldila Ascent 45 in senior. Each is tagged for high launch. That leaves price as the one verified difference. The OPTM Max-K lists at $549 and the Qi4D Max at $649, a gap of $100. Either club suits a golfer who wants a 460cc head, easy launch and the ability to adjust loft.
With matching specs across the board, the OPTM Max-K is the sensible pick. It gives you the same loft range, the same head size, the same shaft options and the same launch profile for $100 less. The Qi4D Max only makes sense if you prefer the TaylorMade look and feel at address enough to pay the premium, or if you have hit both yourself and the sound or the ball flight simply suits you better.
