The Cobra OPTM Max-K and the Cobra OPTM Max-D share the same 460cc head, the same adjustable hosel, the same 9°, 10.5° and 12° loft options, and the same $549 MSRP. Both carry a High Launch tag. What separates them is category. The OPTM Max-K is a game improvement driver. The OPTM Max-D is a max game improvement driver, so forgiveness and spin profile will differ, with the Max-D built to prioritize stability over workability. The other gap is shaft choice. The Max-K lists 2 stock shafts, the Fujikura Ventus Blue 5 in regular and the Aldila Ascent 45 in senior. The Max-D lists only the Aldila Ascent 45 in senior. That points the Max-K at golfers with moderate swing speeds who want a regular flex, and the Max-D at slower swingers who need maximum help getting the ball up and keeping it in play.
Choose the OPTM Max-D if forgiveness is the priority and a senior flex fits your swing.
