The JPX925 Fli-Hi is Mizuno's answer to the long iron most golfers can't hit. It's a hollow-body utility iron built to slot in at the top of a JPX925 set, replacing the 3, 4, or sometimes 5 iron with something that actually gets off the ground. The face is a Chromoly maraging steel insert, thin and fast, wrapped around a hollow head that pushes weight low and back. That construction does the heavy lifting here: more launch, more carry, and a much bigger margin for error than a traditional blade-shaped long iron.
Despite the Tour label, this isn't a club for people chasing a flat, penetrating one-iron flight. The Fli-Hi launches high and lands soft, which is exactly what you want from a 3 or 4 iron replacement that needs to hold a green. It looks like an iron at address, a touch thicker than the JPX925 Forged and Hot Metal heads but not bulky, so it doesn't scream hybrid when you stand over it.
Where it fits is the gap between your longest comfortable iron and your shortest fairway wood or hybrid. If you've been swinging and missing at a 4 iron for years, or you carry a hybrid you don't trust to stop on a green, the Fli-Hi is built for that exact slot. It's not adjustable, so loft and lie come fixed from the factory and any tweaks happen at fitting.
