The 2016 Cobra King LTD was Cobra swinging at the premium end of the driver market, and it mostly connected. This is a 460cc titanium head with an adjustable hosel and a launch profile built to get the ball up without you fighting for it. If you saw one in a bag ten years ago, odds are it belonged to a mid-handicapper who wanted forgiveness but didn't want to give up the feel of a real player's driver.
What set the King LTD apart at the time was the SpacePort, a small window in the sole with a fixed weight tucked into it. Cobra pushed the weight low and back to raise launch and hold the center of gravity steady, which is where the high-launch character comes from. Pair that with the CNC milled face and you get a driver that feels solid off the middle and stays reasonably lively when you miss toward the heel or toe.
A decade on, this is a used-market club, not a new purchase. That changes the conversation. At today's prices it's a lot of driver for the money if you can find one with a clean face and an unabused hosel, and the 460cc footprint and adjustable loft mean it still fits a wide range of players.
