The Titleist GT1 Hybrid and Titleist GT2 Hybrid are built for different players. The GT1 Hybrid is a game improvement hybrid with four lofts from 19° to 27°, so it stretches into territory where many golfers would otherwise carry a long iron. The GT2 Hybrid is a players distance hybrid with four lofts from 17° to 24°. That 17° option is the clearest split. It gives faster swingers who fight spin a lower, more penetrating flight, while the 27° GT1 Hybrid gives slower swingers an easy launch club at the bottom of the set. Neither has an adjustable hosel, so choose loft carefully. The categories also point to different forgiveness and spin profiles.
Most golfers who need help getting the ball up should pick the GT1 Hybrid. It covers more of the high loft range and costs $30 less at $299.99 MSRP. Pick the GT2 Hybrid at $329.99 MSRP if you have a faster swing, want the 17° head, and prefer a flatter flight over maximum forgiveness. If price decides it, the GT1 Hybrid wins. If feel and trajectory matter more than the extra cost, the GT2 Hybrid is the better buy.
