On paper these two are close. Both the TaylorMade Qi4D and the Wilson Dynapwr Carbon sit in the players distance fairway wood category, both have an adjustable hosel, both carry a High Launch tag, and both ship with the same Fujikura Ventus Blue 6 stiff and Ventus Blue 5 regular stock shafts. The real split is the loft menu. The Qi4D runs 15°, 18°, 21° and 24°, so it reaches into 9-wood territory for a golfer who wants a very high-lofted fairway wood instead of a hybrid. The Dynapwr Carbon runs 15°, 16.5°, 18° and 21°, adding a 4-wood for the player who wants something between a 3-wood and a 5-wood.
Price settles it for most golfers. The Dynapwr Carbon lists at $300 against $350 for the Qi4D, a $50 gap between two clubs that share the same shafts, the same adjustability and the same High Launch tag. Unless you specifically need the 24° 9-wood, the Wilson Dynapwr Carbon is the better buy. If that 9-wood slot is the reason you are shopping, or feel at address pushes you toward TaylorMade, the extra $50 for the Qi4D buys a loft Wilson does not offer.
