The Cobra OPTM X and the Callaway Quantum Max both sit in the players distance fairway wood category, both carry a High Launch tag, both have an adjustable hosel, and both ship with the same stock shafts, Fujikura Ventus Blue 6 in stiff and Ventus Blue 5 in regular. What separates them is the loft menu. The OPTM X comes in five lofts from 15° to 24°, including a 4W at 16.5° and a 9W at 24°. The Quantum Max offers three, at 15°, 18° and 21°. That makes the Cobra the better fit for a golfer who wants a full set of woods from one family, or who needs an in-between loft or a high-lofted wood to replace a long iron. The Quantum Max covers the standard 3W, 5W and 7W slots and nothing more.
With identical shafts, matching adjustability and the same High Launch positioning, the recommendation comes down to lofts and price. The Cobra OPTM X gives you more ways to build your bag and lists for $330, $20 less than the Quantum Max at $350. Choose the Quantum Max only if you need nothing beyond a 3W, 5W or 7W and prefer the Callaway for reasons of feel or brand. Otherwise the OPTM X is the easier call.
