Swing Speed Estimator
Know your 7-iron carry? We'll estimate your clubhead speed, ball speed, driver distance, and recommended shaft flex. No launch monitor needed.

Enter how far your 7-iron carries in the air (not total distance). If you know your 7-iron loft, enter it for a more accurate estimate.
How It Works
1
Enter your carry
Your 7-iron carry distance is the anchor. Optionally add your 7-iron loft for a loft-adjusted estimate.
2
Get your speeds
We calculate clubhead speed, ball speed, and estimated driver speed using TrackMan-calibrated data.

Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is a swing speed estimate from carry distance?
Within ±3-5 mph for most golfers. The estimate uses TrackMan normative data and accounts for iron loft. For exact measurements, use a launch monitor.
Why does 7-iron loft affect the speed estimate?
A modern game-improvement 7-iron at 28° will fly further than a traditional blade 7-iron at 34° with the same swing speed. The estimator normalizes for this loft difference to give you a true speed reading.
How do I find my 7-iron carry distance?
Use a GPS watch, rangefinder, or launch monitor. Carry distance is where the ball lands — not total distance including roll. Hit 5-10 shots and take the average, excluding mishits.
What shaft flex should I use based on my swing speed?
Under 65 mph: Ladies flex. 65-72: Senior. 72-83: Regular. 83-92: Stiff. 92+: Extra Stiff. These are starting points. A fitter can dial in the exact flex and weight for your tempo.
