In short
The Kronos Metronome (2014) is a mallet putter built for stability and easier alignment. It has mid toe hang.
The Metronome came out of Kronos Golf's small San Diego shop in 2014, the same year the company got its national moment on Shark Tank. Kronos built its reputation on precision-milled putters sold at boutique prices, and the Metronome is one of the purest expressions of that philosophy. It is a mallet with almost nothing on it. No sight line, no dot, no cavity graphics. Just milled steel.
That takes some getting used to. Most mallets from 2014 were loading up on alignment systems, and Kronos went the opposite direction on the theory that your eyes do a better job framing the ball against a clean head than against a cluttered one. Pair that with mid toe hang, which is rare in a mallet, and you get a putter that behaves less like a typical stable-and-square mallet and more like a blade wearing a bigger body.
If you putt with a slight arc but want more mass and stability than a blade gives you, that combination is the whole point of this putter. If you need a line on the crown to aim, it will frustrate you from day one.
Kronos milled its putters from solid billet rather than casting them, and the Metronome shows it. The surfaces are clean, the edges are crisp, and the face is flat in the way only a machined face is. Feel off the face is firm and immediate, which is what you get from solid milled steel with no insert damping the strike. The mid toe hang is the defining spec. Face-balanced mallets suit straight-back-straight-through strokes, but the Metronome is built for players whose putter face opens and closes a little through the stroke. The mallet shape still adds forgiveness on off-center hits compared to a blade, so the design splits the difference, arc-friendly hang with mallet stability behind it.
Kronos brings a distinctive approach to putter design, focusing on quality materials, precision manufacturing, and performance-driven engineering.
