The Stealth 2 HD is TaylorMade's answer for the golfer who keeps watching the ball leak right off the tee. HD stands for High Draw, and that name is the whole point. This is the most forgiving and most draw-biased driver in the 2023 Stealth 2 family, sitting alongside the standard Stealth 2 and the lower-spinning Stealth 2 Plus. If your miss is a slice and you want more height on your drives, this is the model in the lineup built for you.

TaylorMade carries over the 60X Carbon Twist Face here, the red carbon construction that replaced titanium on the front of the club. The face is lighter than a comparable titanium one, and that saved weight gets pushed low and back into the head to raise launch and crank up forgiveness. The HD takes that idea further than its siblings by adding a heel-weighted setup that helps the face rotate closed through impact. You still get the adjustable loft sleeve, so you can fine-tune launch and trajectory after you buy it.

This is not a player's driver, and it doesn't try to be. It launches high, it spins on the higher side, and it wants to turn the ball over from right to left. For a slicer with a moderate swing speed, those are exactly the traits that turn a weak fade into a usable drive. For a low-handicap player who flights it down and works the ball both ways, this is the wrong tool.

  • You fight a slice and want a driver that actively helps square the face at impact.
  • Your swing speed is moderate and you need more carry and a higher ball flight off the tee.
  • You'd rather have maximum forgiveness on mishits than the ability to shape shots both directions.
  • You want the option to tweak loft and launch with the adjustable hosel as your game changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does HD mean on the Stealth 2 HD?
HD stands for High Draw. The internal weighting is biased toward the heel to help the face close through impact, which fights a slice and produces a right-to-left ball flight for most players. It also launches higher than the standard Stealth 2.
What is the difference between the Stealth 2 HD and the standard Stealth 2?
The standard Stealth 2 is a neutral driver aimed at a wide range of players. The HD is more forgiving, launches higher, and is built with a draw bias for golfers who slice. If your misses are straight or you want to work the ball, the standard model fits better. If you leak it right, go with the HD.
Is the Stealth 2 HD good for high handicappers?
Yes. It sits in the game improvement category and is one of the most forgiving drivers TaylorMade made in 2023. The high MOI, high launch, and draw bias all help higher handicappers keep more drives in play and get the ball airborne.
Is the Stealth 2 HD driver adjustable?
Yes. It has an adjustable loft sleeve in the hosel, so you can raise or lower loft and adjust face angle to fine-tune your launch and trajectory. There is no movable sole weight track like you'll find on the Stealth 2 Plus.
Does the Stealth 2 HD have the carbon face?
Yes. It uses TaylorMade's 60X Carbon Twist Face, the same red carbon face technology across the Stealth 2 line. The lighter carbon face frees up weight that gets positioned low and back to raise launch and boost forgiveness.
