The loft sheet is the real split. The TaylorMade Qi4D Tour comes in three lofts, 15°, 18° and 21°, so it can play as a 3W, 5W or 7W. The Cobra OPTM LS offers two, 16° and 17°, both built for the top of the bag. Beyond that the spec sheets line up. Both are tour fairway woods with adjustable hosels, the same Mitsubishi Diamana D 60 stiff stock shaft and a low spin design. The Qi4D Tour goes lower at 15°, which suits faster swings that fight spin. The OPTM LS is for the player who wants one strong wood and already knows it will sit at 16° or 17°. If you want a matched set of woods, only the Qi4D Tour offers the higher lofts.
Price is the other gap. The OPTM LS lists at $350, the Qi4D Tour at $380, a $30 difference. For most players shopping a tour fairway wood, the Qi4D Tour is the better buy. Three lofts let you fit the club to a real gap in your bag, and the 15° head is the choice for high speed swings that need to hold spin down. Pick the OPTM LS if you know you want a 16° or 17° head, rate feel over loft range, and would rather keep the $30.
