On paper the Cobra DS-Adapt and the TaylorMade Qi35 line up almost feature for feature. Both are 460cc players distance drivers with adjustable hosels, both come in 9°, 10.5° and 12° lofts, and both carry a high launch tag. The stock shafts are the clearest hardware difference. The DS-Adapt ships with a Mitsubishi Diamana D 60 in stiff and an Aldila Ascent 50 in regular. The Qi35 pairs a Fujikura Ventus Blue 6 in stiff with a Ventus Blue 5 in regular. If you already know one of those shaft families works for you, that alone can decide it. Beyond the shaft, the split is money. At $499 the DS-Adapt is $130 cheaper than the $629 Qi35 at list price.
For most golfers the Cobra DS-Adapt is the recommendation. It matches the Qi35 on head size, loft range, adjustability and launch profile, and it does so for $130 less. Choose the TaylorMade Qi35 if the Ventus Blue shaft is a priority, or if you simply prefer TaylorMade and are comfortable paying $629 for it. If price does not factor in, either driver fits the same player. If price does factor in, the DS-Adapt is the easier pick.
