Toulon Design Seattle Putter

2019Mallet

Tóm lại

The Toulon Design Seattle (2019) is a mallet putter built for stability and easier alignment. It has mid toe hang.

Mallet Putter

The Toulon Design Seattle is a strange bird in the best way. It has the footprint of a mallet, but Toulon built it with mid toe hang, which is usually blade territory. That combination puts it in a small club of putters made for golfers who swing the putter on an arc but still want the stability and forgiveness a bigger head provides.

Toulon Design started as Sean Toulon's boutique milled putter brand before Callaway folded it into the Odyssey family, and the Seattle carries that premium milled DNA. The 2019 version pairs the milled head with Odyssey's Stroke Lab shaft, the multi-material design that pulls weight out of the middle of the shaft and redistributes it to both ends to make your tempo more repeatable.

One thing to know up front: there is no alignment line on this putter. Not a dot, not a sight line. You aim it with the shape of the head and the leading edge. Some golfers find that liberating. Others will pick it up, look down, and immediately put it back on the rack. You'll know which camp you're in within about three putts.

Thiết kế

The head is milled from stainless steel and finished in Toulon's dark charcoal smoke, which cuts glare at address and looks better with a few seasons of wear on it. The signature feature is the deep diamond face milling. Instead of a flat milled surface or a soft insert, the crosshatched pattern channels a firmer, more responsive feel and helps the ball start rolling sooner instead of skidding off the face. Feedback is honest. Strike it off-center and your hands will tell you. Shape-wise, the Seattle is a rounded mid-mallet with clean, flowing lines and a completely bare top. The neck sets it up with mid toe hang, so the face wants to rotate open and closed through the stroke rather than staying dead square. It's a mallet built to move like a blade, and that's exactly why it exists in the lineup.

Who It's For

  • Players with a slight to moderate arc in their stroke who want more forgiveness than a blade gives them.
  • Anyone who aims by feel and head shape and finds alignment lines distracting rather than helpful.
  • Fans of firm, milled-face feedback who never got along with soft insert putters.

Câu hỏi thường gặp

Is the Toulon Seattle a face-balanced putter?
No. Despite the mallet shape, the Seattle has mid toe hang. It's designed for strokes with a slight to moderate arc, not the straight-back-straight-through stroke that face-balanced mallets suit.
Why doesn't the Seattle have an alignment line?
That's a deliberate design choice. Toulon built the Seattle for golfers who aim using the head shape and the leading edge. Research and fitting experience both show some players actually aim worse with lines. If you rely on a sight line to square the face, this probably isn't your putter.
What does the diamond face milling actually do?
The deep diamond pattern serves two purposes. It softens the impact sound slightly compared to a flat milled face, and the grooves help the ball leave the face with less skid so it starts rolling sooner. Distance control on longer putts tends to be the biggest practical benefit.
Does the 2019 Toulon Seattle come with the Stroke Lab shaft?
Yes. The 2019 Toulon Design lineup shipped with Odyssey's Stroke Lab shaft, a graphite and steel design that's about 40 grams lighter through the middle. That saved weight goes to the grip end and the head, which Odyssey's testing showed improves stroke consistency for a lot of players.
How does the Seattle compare to Odyssey mallets like the #7 or 2-Ball?
Different animals. Those Odyssey mallets are mostly face-balanced or near it, loaded with alignment aids, and built for straighter strokes. The Seattle is a milled, minimalist mid-mallet with toe hang and zero alignment features. It trades visual assistance for feel, feedback, and a cleaner look at address.
