The T24 is Mizuno's 2024 forged wedge line, and the Tour Grind is the version built for players who like to manipulate the face around the greens. It comes out of the Hiroshima forging house using Grain Flow Forged HD construction from soft 1025 carbon steel, which is the same process behind Mizuno's irons and the reason these wedges feel the way they do. Hit a half shot with one and you understand the appeal. The impact is soft and quiet, with enough feedback to tell you exactly where you caught it.
What makes the Tour Grind different from a standard sole is the heel and toe relief. Open the face for a flop or a delicate bunker shot and the leading edge stays low to the turf instead of riding up, so you can slide the club under the ball on tight lies. That comes at a cost. It wants a shallower, sweeping angle of attack, and steep diggers will find it less predictable than a wider sole.
Mizuno also builds the T24 with progressive design across the range. The 46 through 50 degree heads carry a bit more mass and a fuller shape to bridge the gap from your irons, while the 54s, 56s, 58, and 60 get more compact and more workable. You are essentially buying a matched set that changes character as the loft climbs.

About the Mizuno T24
The grooves are loft specific. Lower lofted heads use a groove geometry tuned for full swings and distance control, and the higher lofts switch to a configuration meant for spin on partial and open faced shots. Mizuno adds HydroFlow micro grooves, which are laser milled channels between the main grooves that push water and grass off the face so wet lies and rough spin closer to a clean strike. Most finishes carry a copper underlay beneath the plating, so as the surface wears the copper shows through, which some players like and others plate over. The soft carbon steel means these will rust and mark faster than a cast wedge, and the raw finish is designed to do exactly that. The Tour Grind sole is narrower than the standard option with more curvature from heel to toe, so it rewards players who rotate the face open and rely on bounce rather than digging.
Who Should Play the Mizuno T24?
- ✓Mid to low handicap players who play off firm turf and tight lies and want to open the face without the leading edge sitting up.
- ✓Golfers with a shallow, sweeping strike who release the club rather than driving down and taking a deep divot.
- ✓Anyone who already plays forged irons and wants short irons and wedges that feel and sound the same at impact.
常见问题
How is the T24 Tour Grind different from the other T24 grinds?
The Tour Grind has more heel and toe relief and a narrower, more rounded sole, which lets you open the face and use bounce on delicate shots. The wider grinds keep more sole on the turf and suit steeper swings and softer conditions. If you like to hit flops, spinners, and open faced bunker shots, the Tour Grind fits. If you take deep divots, one of the fuller soles will be more forgiving.
What lofts should I pick to fill the gap below my irons?
The 46, 48, and 50 degree heads are the gap fillers. Most players run something around 4 degree jumps, so a common setup is a 46 or 48 pitching gap wedge, a 52 or 54, and then a 56, 58, or 60 for the lob. Match the 46 to 50 loft to whatever your set pitching wedge is so you do not leave a hole or double up a yardage.
Will the forged carbon steel rust?
Yes, and that is expected. The T24 is forged from soft 1025 carbon steel, and the copper underlay and raw finishes are meant to patina and rust over time. It does not affect performance and many players prefer the look and the way rust cuts glare. If you want it to stay clean, wipe the face dry after rounds and pick one of the plated finishes.
Does the T24 feel softer than a cast wedge?
That is the main reason to buy one. The Grain Flow Forged HD process from soft carbon steel gives it a muted, dense feel at impact that cast wedges struggle to match. You get clear feedback on strike location on partial shots, which is where wedge feel actually matters.
What do the HydroFlow micro grooves actually do?
They are small laser cut channels between the main grooves that move water and debris out of the way at impact. On wet turf, morning dew, or out of the rough, that keeps the contact point drier so you hold more spin instead of watching the ball come out hot and running. In dry conditions from the fairway you will not notice much difference.
