Game Improvement 球道木
Adams was in an interesting spot in 2013. TaylorMade had just bought the company, but the Speedline Super S still feels like classic Adams, a club built for regular golfers rather than tour pros. It came out alongside the lower-spinning Super LS, and the split was simple. The LS was for fast swingers chasing spin reduction. The Super S was for everyone else.
The Super S driver carries on the Speedline aerodynamic head shaping Adams had been refining since 2009, paired with a lightweight build meant to help average swing speeds pick up a little clubhead speed without swinging harder. The matte black crown with yellow accents was loud for its era, but the club underneath is conservative in the best way. High launch, plenty of forgiveness, no gimmicks.
There is no adjustability here, which cuts both ways. You cannot tune loft or bias after you buy it, but you also are not paying for a hosel mechanism, and the head weight goes into forgiveness instead of hardware. On the used market in particular, that trade looks pretty good.
- Mid to high handicappers who want a straightforward, forgiving driver without paying for adjustability they would set once and forget.
- Players with moderate swing speeds, roughly 95 mph and under, who benefit from the lightweight build and higher launch.
- Bargain hunters who know that a 2013 non-adjustable driver from a discontinued brand is one of the cheapest ways to get legitimate game improvement performance.
常见问题
- Is the Adams Speedline Super S adjustable?
- No. The hosel is glued, so loft and face angle are fixed. Pick your loft carefully at purchase, and when in doubt, take the higher option. Most golfers this club suits will launch it better at 10.5 degrees or more.
- What is the difference between the Speedline Super S and the Super LS?
- The Super S is the higher-launching, more forgiving of the two, built for average swing speeds. The Super LS is a lower-spin head aimed at faster swingers who generate too much spin. If you slice the ball or swing under about 100 mph, the Super S is the better fit.
- Is the Speedline Super S still worth buying used?
- For the money, yes. Driver technology has improved since 2013, mostly in forgiveness and spin consistency, but the gap is smaller than marketing suggests. A clean Super S typically costs less than a new premium grip setup on a current driver, and for a casual golfer the performance difference is modest.
- What shaft came stock in the Speedline Super S driver?
- Adams shipped it with a lightweight stock graphite shaft in regular, stiff, and senior flexes as part of an overall light build. If you are buying used, check what is actually in the club, since many have been reshafted over the years. The light stock setup favors smooth tempos.
- Did Adams stop making drivers after the Super S?
- Nearly. TaylorMade acquired Adams in 2012 and wound the brand down over the next few years, so the Super S generation was among the last Adams drivers. That is bad for resale value but good for buyers, since prices on the used market stay low.
