Kronos Metronome Putter

2014Mallet

Tóm lại

The Kronos Metronome (2014) is a mallet putter built for stability and easier alignment. It has mid toe hang.

Mallet Putter

The Metronome came out of Kronos Golf's small San Diego shop in 2014, the same year the company got its national moment on Shark Tank. Kronos built its reputation on precision-milled putters sold at boutique prices, and the Metronome is one of the purest expressions of that philosophy. It is a mallet with almost nothing on it. No sight line, no dot, no cavity graphics. Just milled steel.

That takes some getting used to. Most mallets from 2014 were loading up on alignment systems, and Kronos went the opposite direction on the theory that your eyes do a better job framing the ball against a clean head than against a cluttered one. Pair that with mid toe hang, which is rare in a mallet, and you get a putter that behaves less like a typical stable-and-square mallet and more like a blade wearing a bigger body.

If you putt with a slight arc but want more mass and stability than a blade gives you, that combination is the whole point of this putter. If you need a line on the crown to aim, it will frustrate you from day one.

Thiết kế

Kronos milled its putters from solid billet rather than casting them, and the Metronome shows it. The surfaces are clean, the edges are crisp, and the face is flat in the way only a machined face is. Feel off the face is firm and immediate, which is what you get from solid milled steel with no insert damping the strike. The mid toe hang is the defining spec. Face-balanced mallets suit straight-back-straight-through strokes, but the Metronome is built for players whose putter face opens and closes a little through the stroke. The mallet shape still adds forgiveness on off-center hits compared to a blade, so the design splits the difference, arc-friendly hang with mallet stability behind it.

Who It's For

  • Players with a slight-arc stroke who want mallet forgiveness without switching to a face-balanced head.
  • Golfers who aim better off a clean topline and find sight lines distracting rather than helpful.
  • Anyone drawn to small-batch milled putters and willing to pay boutique money for one instead of buying from the big OEMs.

Câu hỏi thường gặp

Is the Kronos Metronome face-balanced?
No. It has mid toe hang, which is unusual for a mallet. That makes it a fit for slight-arc strokes rather than the straight-back-straight-through strokes most mallets are designed around.
Why doesn't the Metronome have an alignment line?
Kronos left the crown deliberately clean. The idea is that a plain, well-shaped head lets you frame the ball naturally instead of forcing your eyes to reconcile a line with your intended start direction. Some players aim better this way. Others miss the line badly and never adjust.
Is the Kronos Metronome a good putter for beginners?
Probably not the best first putter. The lack of an alignment aid and the premium price make it a tough starting point. It rewards players who already know their stroke type and aim well without visual aids.
Is Kronos the putter company from Shark Tank?
Yes. Kronos Golf appeared on Shark Tank in 2014, the same year the Metronome was current. The company is a small San Diego operation focused on precision-milled putters rather than mass-produced ones.
How does the 2014 Metronome compare to a modern mallet?
It gives up the aggressive perimeter weighting and multi-material construction of current mallets, so it is less forgiving on mishits than something like a modern high-MOI head. What it offers instead is milled feel, a clean look, and toe hang that most modern mallets don't have.
