Game Improvement Hybrid

Wilson brought back the Dynapower name in 2024, and this is the game improvement version of the family. The name goes back to Wilson's persimmon woods from decades ago, but there's nothing retro about how this iron is built. It leans on a cast 431 stainless head with a run of urethane-filled Power Holes tracing the perimeter, and Wilson used computer modeling to place them where the face flexes most on off-center hits.

What you get is a forgiving mid-to-large iron aimed at players who want easy launch and a bigger margin for error. The lofts are on the stronger side, so the long irons fly like they belong a club or two lower on the number. That helps distance, and it helps get the ball up when your swing speed isn't producing a lot of spin on its own.

This is not a shape for someone chasing shot-shaping or a buttery forged feel. It's built to make average-to-higher handicap golfers hit more greens, and it does that without hiding what it is. You give up some workability and a touch of feedback, and in return the mishits stay closer to where you aimed.

  • Mid and higher handicap players who want their long irons to actually get airborne without a perfect strike.
  • Anyone with moderate swing speed who needs help launching the ball and holding a green.
  • Players moving out of a set they find too demanding and wanting more consistent distance on mishits.
  • Value-minded golfers who want game improvement performance without paying a premium forged price.

Câu hỏi thường gặp

Are the Wilson Dynapower irons forged or cast?
The standard Dynapower game improvement iron is cast from 431 stainless steel, not forged. Wilson sells a separate Dynapower Forged model if you want the softer feel of a forged players iron. This version trades some feel for the forgiveness and price that casting allows.
What are the Power Holes on the Dynapower?
Power Holes are small openings around the perimeter of the sole and toe that are filled with urethane. They let the face flex more on off-center hits to keep ball speed up, and the urethane keeps the sound and feel solid instead of hollow. Wilson used computer modeling to decide where to place them.
Are the Dynapower lofts stronger than average?
Yes. Like most game improvement irons, the Dynapower runs stronger lofts to add distance, so a given number flies farther than a traditional set. That's why the ball goes further, but keep it in mind when you gap your set against a wedge or a fairway wood.
Is the Dynapower a good iron for a high handicapper?
It's a solid fit. The wide sole, perimeter weighting, and easy-launching long irons are all built to help players who don't strike it consistently. If you struggle to get long irons in the air or you lose distance on mishits, this is the kind of iron designed to fix that.
Can I adjust the loft or lie on the Dynapower irons?
No. These are traditional irons with no adjustable hosel, so you can't change loft or lie with a wrench. Any customizing happens at order time through shaft choice and a static lie or length adjustment during fitting.
