Low Spin

Tour Fairway Wood

The F8+ is the version of Cobra's 2018 driver built for players who spin the ball too much and want to do something about it. Where the standard F8 fixes its weight low and back for forgiveness, the plus model hands you two ports and two weights, a 12-gram and a 2-gram, so you can shove mass forward to kill spin or slide it back when you need more launch and stability. That single decision changes how the head performs, and it's the whole reason this club exists.

Cobra made a lot of noise in 2018 about the CNC milled face, and the hype was mostly earned. Most driver faces get forged and hand-finished, which leaves small inconsistencies. Cobra machined the entire face to tighter tolerances so thickness stays true across the hitting area. Pair that with the E9 dual-roll geometry and you get a face that holds ball speed on shots caught a little high or low, not just dead center.

This is a driver for the better player who has speed and a repeatable strike. Put it in a 12-handicapper's hands with the weight forward and it can feel punishing on mishits. Put it in the hands of someone who flights the ball too high and spins it into the stratosphere, and the F8+ is a genuinely useful tool. It won't flatter you the way a game-improvement head does, and it isn't trying to.

  • Faster swingers who launch the ball high and spin it too much off the tee
  • Better ball strikers who want to move weight forward for lower spin or back for more launch
  • Players who like a more compact, traditional shape they can work left and right
  • Anyone who wants shot tracking data built in without clipping on a separate sensor

Câu hỏi thường gặp

What's the difference between the Cobra F8 and F8+?
The F8+ has two adjustable weight ports, front and back, and comes with a 12-gram and a 2-gram weight so you can tune spin and CG. The standard F8 has a fixed low-back weight for maximum forgiveness. The plus also sits a touch more compact and is aimed at faster, more consistent swingers, while the regular F8 is the more forgiving, easier-to-launch head.
How much does the front weight lower spin on the F8+?
Moving the 12-gram weight to the front port shifts the center of gravity ahead of the face and typically cuts spin by a few hundred RPM compared to the back setting. How much you actually gain depends on your swing, but if you're spinning the driver over 3,000 RPM, the forward setting is where you'll see the biggest change.
What is the CNC milled face and does it matter?
Cobra machined the entire face on the F8 line rather than forging and hand-finishing it, which keeps face thickness more consistent across the hitting area. In practice that means more repeatable ball speed, including on strikes caught slightly high or low. It's a real engineering difference, not just marketing.
How does Cobra Connect work on the F8+?
The grip houses an Arccos sensor that pairs with the Cobra Connect app on your phone. It automatically logs distance and accuracy for every drive, so you can track your real on-course numbers over time without buying a separate tracking system.
Is the F8+ too much driver for a mid handicapper?
It can be. With the weight forward it rewards a solid, center-face strike and gives back less on mishits than a game-improvement driver. A mid handicapper who spins the ball too much could still benefit, but if you struggle to find the center of the face consistently, the standard F8 or a more forgiving option will treat you better.
