Is the Yamaha RMX VD/R 2024 forgiving enough for a mid handicapper?

It's more forgiving than its Tour label suggests, mostly because the 460cc head keeps stability reasonable on off-center hits. But it's low spin and built for control, so a mid handicapper who struggles with contact will lose more distance on mishits than they would with the more forgiving heads in the RMX VD family. Why isn't the RMX VD/R adjustable?
