The PXG 0811 was Bob Parsons' opening statement to the driver market, and it did not arrive quietly. This was PXG's first driver, a 460cc titanium head that launched in 2016 at a price that made most golfers do a double take. Parsons wasn't building for the value shopper. He was building the driver he wanted, then charging what it cost to make it that way.

What you got for the money was a driver aimed at players who swing well but still want help getting the ball up. Is the PXG 0811 a high-launch or low-spin driver?

It leans high launch. The tech tag on this head is high launch, and with the sole weights set toward the back it wants to get the ball up and keep it there. You can move weight forward to bring spin down some, but out of the box this driver is built to help golfers who launch the ball too low, not to be a spin-killer for tour players.

How do the weight screws on the 0811 sole actually work?

There's a ring of small screws around the perimeter of the sole, and you swap heavier and lighter ones in and out to move the center of gravity. Heel weighting helps square the face and fight a slice. Back weighting raises launch and adds forgiveness. Forward weighting cuts spin.
