Low Spin

Tour ドライバー

The G425 LST is Ping's answer for the golfer who already has speed and keeps launching it too high with too much spin. LST stands for Low Spin Tech, and that's exactly the job. At 440cc, the head is 20cc smaller than the G425 Max, which shifts weight forward and lower to knock spin off the ball without turning the driver into something you have to steer.

Ping built this around a movable tungsten weight in the back, so you can dial the face to neutral, draw, or fade before you tee off. The forged T9S+ face is thin and hot, and the crown keeps Ping's Turbulators up front to smooth airflow at the top of the swing. It's a driver with a clear audience in mind, and it doesn't try to please everyone.

This is the fast-swinger's option in the G425 family. If your numbers show high spin choking your carry, or you're a strong player who wants a flatter, more penetrating flight, the LST gives you that while still keeping more forgiveness than most low-spin heads its size.

  • Faster swingers whose launch monitor shows spin numbers well above 2,500 rpm robbing them of carry
  • Strong ball-strikers who want a flatter, more boring ball flight without giving up all the help a modern head provides
  • Players comfortable finding the center of a 440cc face who don't need the largest, most forgiving profile Ping makes
  • Golfers who want to set their own draw or fade bias with a real movable weight rather than just an adjustable hosel

よくある質問

What's the difference between the G425 LST and the G425 Max?
The Max is the 460cc high-forgiveness model with the highest MOI, aimed at most golfers. The LST is 440cc with weight pushed forward for lower spin, built for faster swingers who launch it too high. If you don't have a spin problem, the Max is usually the better pick.
How much spin does the G425 LST take off?
Ping puts the drop at roughly 200 to 300 rpm compared to the Max for most players, though your exact number depends on strike and swing speed. The point isn't a huge headline figure. It's shaving enough spin to flatten your flight and add carry when you're already spinning it too much.
Is the G425 LST too much driver for a mid-handicapper?
It can be. Low-spin heads reward center contact and punish misses more than a Max would, and the 440cc size gives you a bit less margin. If your swing speed is under about 100 mph or your spin is already low, you'll likely play better and hit more fairways with the Max or SFT.
How does the adjustable weight on the LST work?
A tungsten weight in the back sole moves to three positions: draw, neutral, and fade. Slide it toward the heel to fight a slice, toward the toe to take a draw out, or leave it neutral. It changes shot shape bias without touching your loft, which you adjust separately through the hosel.
What loft should I get in the G425 LST?
Ping offers it in 9 and 10.5 degrees, and the hosel lets you tune each up or down a degree and a half. Faster swingers who spin it a lot often do well starting at 9 degrees, but fit it to your launch and spin numbers rather than guessing. The adjustability gives you room either way.
