The Tour Grind is the narrowest, most relieved sole in the RTX 6 lineup. It has extra heel and trailing-edge grinding so you can open the face for lobs and cut shots without the leading edge rising off the turf. The fuller mid and low grinds keep more sole material and give you more forgiveness and bounce for square-faced, steeper swings, so they suit players who dig more or play softer sand.

Most players carry three or four of these. A common setup is a 50 or 52 as the gap wedge, a 54 or 56 as the sand wedge, and a 58 or 60 as the lob. If your set already ends in a strong pitching wedge, the 46 and 48 help close the yardage gap at the top. The 64 is a specialty club for players who want a very high, soft shot and can handle the shorter effective distance.

The UltiZip grooves are cut deeper and sharper with more grooves on the face than earlier Tour Zip grooves, and Cleveland heat-treats the face so the edges stay sharp longer. Where you notice it most is on partial shots, wet turf, and out of the rough, since those are the lies that normally kill spin. On clean full shots from the fairway the difference is smaller.

It is forgiving for a tour-style wedge, but it is not a game-improvement club and it will not pretend to be one. ZipCore centers the sweet spot and the cavity keeps mishits from losing all their distance, but the narrow Tour Grind sole asks for reasonably clean contact. If you take deep divots or want maximum help from the sole, the wider grinds are a better fit.

The Tour Grind runs on the lower to mid side for bounce, which is what makes it work on firm turf and tight lies. Lower bounce keeps the leading edge close to the ground when you open the face, but it also means it is less forgiving in soft, fluffy sand or off fat, steep contact. Match it to firm and medium conditions, and step up to a fuller grind if you play soft courses or dig.
