High Launch

Players Distance ドライバー

Titleist has never chased forgiveness the way some brands do, so when the TS line showed up in 2018 it got people's attention. The TS2 was the friendlier of the two drivers Titleist launched that year, sitting next to the more adjustable TS3. TS stands for Titleist Speed, and the whole project started at the top of the head, with the crown.

The real story is that ultra-thin titanium crown. Titleist made it roughly 20 percent thinner than the crown on the 917 driver it replaced, then took the weight it saved and pushed it low and back in the head. You get a driver that launches high, spins in a stable window, and holds its line when you catch it off-center. At 460cc with a fixed weight, the TS2 is built to be easy, not to be fiddled with.

This is a driver for the golfer who wants Titleist quality without needing to work the ball both directions. It sets up square, it wants to go straight, and it gets the ball into the air without a low-spin shaft or a delofted setup. The SureFit hosel still lets you fine-tune loft and lie, so you can shape flight a bit, but the head itself is tuned for high launch and forgiveness rather than shot-shaping.

  • Moderate swing speeds that need help getting the ball airborne and keeping launch high
  • Players fighting a low, knuckling ball flight who want a higher, more stable window off the tee
  • Anyone who wants Titleist build quality and hosel adjustability but won't use a movable weight
  • Golfers who scatter their misses toward heel and toe and want the extra MOI to save ball speed

よくある質問

What's the difference between the Titleist TS2 and TS3?
The TS2 has a fixed, low-and-back CG for higher launch and more forgiveness. The TS3 adds the adjustable SureFit CG weight, so you can shift the center of gravity toward the heel or toe to bias a draw or fade and fine-tune spin. The TS2 is the easier, straighter driver, and the TS3 is for players who want to move the ball around.
Is the Titleist TS2 adjustable?
Yes, through the SureFit hosel, which gives 16 independent settings for loft and lie. You can raise or lower launch and tweak face angle to fight a hook or a slice. What it doesn't have is a movable weight, since the CG is fixed. That is the trade-off for the TS2's simpler, more forgiving setup.
What lofts does the TS2 driver come in?
8.5, 9.5, 10.5, and 11.5 degrees. The SureFit hosel then lets you adjust each head up or down by as much as 1.5 degrees, so the real loft range you can dial in is fairly wide. Most players who want the high-launch character get there with the 9.5 or 10.5 head.
Is the TS2 still worth buying used?
For a high-launch, forgiving driver, yes. The TS2 holds up well on the used market. Ball speed and forgiveness from that generation of titanium face are still competitive for most amateurs, and you can usually find one for a fraction of a new driver's price. Get the loft and shaft fit right and it plays like a much newer club.
Who should skip the TS2?
Faster swingers who already launch it high and spin too much. The TS2 is designed to add launch and hold spin, so if you need a low-spin, low-launch head to control a strong flight, the TS3 or a dedicated low-spin driver is the better call.
