High Launch

Game Improvement ドライバー

The 0811 XF GEN5 is PXG's answer for golfers who want the ball to go straight and get airborne without a fight. XF stands for extreme forgiveness, and that's the whole point of this head. It sits at the high-MOI, high-launch end of the GEN5 driver line, above the more neutral 0811 X, and it leans toward a draw to help fight the slice that costs most amateurs distance.

This is a 460cc head, so you get the full legal footprint behind the ball. PXG built the GEN5 drivers around an internal weighting material they call an impact reactor system, a two-layer setup with a honeycomb TPE and a metal ring that lets the face flex more at contact. In plain terms, off-center hits hold their speed better and the ball still climbs. You won't work a fade around a dogleg with this one, and it isn't trying to let you.

Adjustability is part of the package. The hosel changes loft and lie, and there's a weighting system on the sole you can move to dial in launch and shot shape. PXG also throws in genuine aftermarket shafts at no upcharge, which matters when you're paying premium money for a driver in the first place.

  • Mid to high handicappers who lose the most distance on off-center strikes and want a head that forgives them.
  • Slicers who need the draw bias and high launch to straighten out and hold a flight.
  • Players with moderate swing speeds who struggle to get the driver up in the air and keep it there.

よくある質問

What's the difference between the 0811 XF GEN5 and the 0811 X GEN5?
The XF is the higher-launch, higher-MOI, more forgiving head with a draw bias built in. The X is more neutral, spins a touch lower, and is easier to work both directions. If you slice or fight a low ball flight, the XF is the one. If you already deliver the club well and want a flatter, more workable flight, look at the X.
Is the 0811 XF GEN5 adjustable?
Yes. The hosel adjusts loft and lie, and the sole has a movable weighting system you can shift to tweak launch and shot shape. Between the two you can push it more toward a straight ball or lean harder into the draw.
Does the XF GEN5 really help with a slice?
It's designed to. The draw bias moves weight to promote right-to-left flight for a right-handed player, and the high MOI keeps the face from twisting open on heel strikes, which is where a lot of slices start. It won't rebuild your swing, but it will take some curve off the ball.
Do you have to pay extra for a premium shaft?
No. PXG includes genuine aftermarket shafts at no upcharge, so you can fit into a quality shaft without the surcharge most brands add. That's worth factoring in when you compare the price against other premium drivers.
Is the 0811 XF GEN5 too much driver for a low handicapper?
It can be. The high launch and draw bias that help mid and high handicappers can turn into too much height and too much left for a better player who already flights the ball well. Stronger players usually gravitate to the 0811 X GEN5 or the tour-style XT head instead.
